And one more makes four! After Italy, Germany and Egypt, it is Thailand that was chosen by the Siva group last December as the location for a new production unit. Created in 1966, the group has brought together both Siva and Weberlace since 2014. With this new facility, Siva is now the largest lace company that controls its entire production in two continents, covering every production stage. This includes creation, R&D and technical development which are still carried out in Italy, as you might expect, by around fifteen people. “We’re proud to be in a position to offer clients, whether Asian, American or European, and particularly those manufacturing in Asia, a comprehensive service by delivering greater reactivity and improved flexibility,” explains Vittorio Siviero, Siva group CCO. The Thai unit employs 45 people and represents production capacity of 20 tonnes per month. “With the same machines and the same yarns that we already use, this site produces Jacquardtronic and Textronic type mid-to-high end and premium lace on state-of-the-art machines,” outlines Stefano de Franceschi, Siva’s Chief Executive. Judging by the stand, which remained busy for the duration of the 3-day show, Siva has won over clients with its even higher performance production facility and a collection that remains as creative as ever.
